HUNGRY PELICAN

We are closed Saturday, March 30th & Sunday, March 31st (Easter Sunday). We will return to our normal business hours Monday, April 1st.

Welcome to Hungry Pelican! We are a family-owned, home-style restaurant that is known for our fresh seafood and friendly faces. We strive to give customers fast and friendly service with the freshest ingredients. We hand cut and hand bread most items on our menu, including our famous rolled oysters and whitefish. In April 2015, Hungry Pelican was featured on the Travel Channel's “Delicious Destination” program, hosted by Andrew Zimmern, sharing the art behind our handmade rolled oysters. We have also been featured in our local newspaper multiple times.

Our location on Bardstown Road has been standing since 1974. It originally opened as Cape Codder and in 1978 transitioned to Hungry Pelican. The previous owners, Al and Deborah Feige, purchased the restaurant in 1991. They first met at the restaurant's Hikes Point location in 1979 as a couple of youngsters and it was a fairy tale ending. Today the restaurant is owned by their daughter, Christie, and her husband, Jeremy whom also met each other through working together at Hungry Pelican!

Our restaurant is a family friendly restaurant with a dining room that can accommodate large groups from family gatherings to birthday parties, and everything in between. We do ask if you have a party of 10 or more people to please make a reservation!

Everyone at Hungry Pelican takes pride in their work. We strive to develop a relationship with our customers and employees alike. Some of our lovely staff have been a part of our work family for 20+ years. Getting to know our customers and sharing life stories with them is just a part of what makes us who we are.
